The Scholarship Committee annually awards scholarships to accomplished local high school students seeking higher education from an accredited four-year university. Scholarship recipients are rewarded for their commitment to scholastic achievement, community service and leadership.

The Scholarship Committee of the Berkeley Bay Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly upholds the Sorority’s long-standing commitment to educational excellence and youth empowerment. For over 60 years, the chapter has awarded significant financial assistance to outstanding local high school students in pursuit of higher education.

Each year, the committee identifies, evaluates, and awards scholarships to accomplished and service-oriented graduating seniors who plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university. Recipients are selected based on their academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and personal character.

Applicants are encouraged to share their unique journeys, including the challenges they’ve overcome, and their aspirations for the future. This process helps the chapter not only award financial support but also recognize and uplift the powerful voices of the next generation of leaders.
